Karissa made a Sushi dish set in the usual way except for the exceptional detail she used to draw a picture in the plates. A product we have is a "paint" made from finely crushed glass that is used very similarly to paint. Because it is glass based, it fuses with the base glass when fired in the kiln. I don't have a detail picture so I enlarged one of the plates to give you an idea of how it looks.

Art on the road! Creative Minds Studio made another visit to May Creek senior center for a glaze your own plate project. We took a case of premade plates, a bunch of glazes and a few tools to Walker where these experienced artist were waiting. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to photograph the finished products after they were fired but trust me, the amount of detail and thought put into these surprised me. Obviously, you are never too old.
Picture frames in glass are proving to be a big hit with kids. Once the frames are completed, we glue them to a stand with a picture slot-so they stand up and your picture is protected. Sun catchers to hang in your window have been a consistent hit with everyone!
